State Inspections for Vehicle Registration
The Texas Legislature, in its infinite wisdom, has eliminated the requirement for the longstanding annual state vehicle safety inspection for many vehicles as of January 1, 2025, including motorcycles. Naturally, you will still need to pay the vehicle inspection fee to Texas every year (which they will now no longer split with the inspectors who did the inspections). If you cannot wait to see what insane thing our Republican-dominated legislature will do next, don't worry, you can be sure you will not need to wait too long.
If you want to read all about the actual policy, here's a link to the Texas DPS web page that has all the details:

HOWEVER, if you want an actual safety inspection (if you want to know whether or not your bike is roadworthy and safe to operate) then you can still schedule a free safety inspection here. That policy has not changed. Free. No charge. (Charges may be required if significant disassembly / reassembly is required to track down an issue. In that case, you get a price quote before work begins. No surprises.) Why? Because pre-service inspections at WrenchMonster are generally always free. After the inspection you get a service plan and a quote...then you decide what you want to do.
BTW, if you elect to ignore a safety problem, you will get a stern lecture! (Also for free.)
